Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy. Among the most important topics are five unifying principles that can be said to be the fundamental axioms of modern biology:
Cells are the basic unit of life
New species and inherited traits are the product of evolution
Genes are the basic unit of heredity
An organism regulates its internal environment to maintain a stable and constant condition.
Living organisms consume and transform energy.
Subdisciplines of biology are recognized on the basis of the scale at which organisms are studied and the methods used to study them: biochemistry examines the rudimentary chemistry of life; molecular biology studies the complex interactions of systems of biological molecules; cellular biology examines the basic building block of all life, the cell; physiology examines the physical and chemical functions of the tissues, organs, and organ systems of an organism; and ecology examines how various organisms interact and associate with their environment.
The term biology in its modern sense appears to have been introduced independently by Karl Friedrich Burdach (1800), Gottfried Reinhold Treviranus (Biologie oder Philosophie der lebenden Natur, 1802), and Jean-Baptiste Lamarck (Hydrogéologie, 1802). Although biology in its modern form is a relatively recent development, sciences related to and included within it have been studied since ancient times. Natural philosophy was studied as early as the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Indian subcontinent, and China. However, the origins of modern biology and its approach to the study of nature are most often traced back to ancient Greece. Especially important are his History of Animals and other works where he showed naturalist leanings, and later more empirical works that focused on biological causation and the diversity of life. Aristotle's successor at the Lyceum, Theophrastus, wrote a series of books on botany that survived as the most important contribution of antiquity to the plant sciences, even into the Middle Ages. Significant advances in the study and development of biology were promoted through the efforts of such Muslim physicians as the Afro-Arab scholar al-Jahiz (781–869) in zoology, the Kurdish biologist Al-Dinawari (828–896) in botany, and the Persian physician Rhazes (865–925) in anatomy and physiology. These philosophers elaborated on, expanded, and improved the Greek biological theories and systematics. Medicine was especially well studied by Islamic scholars working in Greek philosopher traditions, while natural history drew heavily on Aristotelian thought, especially in upholding a fixed hierarchy of life.

Biology began to quickly develop and grow with Antony van Leeuwenhoek's dramatic improvement of the microscope. It was then that scholars discovered spermatozoa, bacteria, infusoria and the sheer strangeness and diversity of microscopic life. Investigations by Jan Swammerdam led to new interest in entomology and built the basic techniques of microscopic dissection and staining.
Advances in microscopy also had a profound impact on biological thinking itself. In the early 19th century, a number of biologists pointed to the central importance of the cell. In 1838 and 1839, Schleiden and Schwann began promoting the ideas that (1) the basic unit of organisms is the cell and (2) that individual cells have all the characteristics of life, although they opposed the idea that (3) all cells come from the division of other cells. Thanks to the work of Robert Remak and Rudolf Virchow, however, by the 1860s most biologists accepted all three tenets of what came to be known as cell theory.
Meanwhile, taxonomy and classification became a focus in the study of natural history. Carolus Linnaeus published a basic taxonomy for the natural world in 1735 (variations of which have been in use ever since), and in the 1750s introduced scientific names for all his species. Though he was opposed to evolution, Buffon is a key figure in the history of evolutionary thought; his work influenced the evolutionary theories of both Lamarck and Darwin.
Serious evolutionary thinking originated with the works of Jean-Baptiste Lamarck. However, it was the British naturalist Charles Darwin, combining the biogeographical approach of Humboldt, the uniformitarian geology of Lyell, Thomas Malthus's writings on population growth, and his own morphological expertise, that created a more successful evolutionary theory based on natural selection; similar reasoning and evidence led Alfred Russel Wallace to independently reach the same conclusions.
The discovery of the physical representation of heredity came along with evolutionary principles and population genetics. In the 1940s and early 1950s, experiments pointed to DNA as the component of chromosomes that held genes. A focus on new model organisms such as viruses and bacteria, along with the discovery of the double helical structure of DNA in 1953, marked the transition to the era of molecular genetics. From the 1950s to present times, biology has been vastly extended in the molecular domain. The genetic code was cracked by Har Gobind Khorana, Robert W. Holley and Marshall Warren Nirenberg after DNA was understood to contain codons. Finally, the Human Genome Project was launched in 1990 with the goal of mapping the general human genome. This project was essentially completed in 2003, with further analysis still being published. The Human Genome Project was the first step in a globalized effort to incorporate accumulated knowledge of biology into a functional, molecular definition of the human body and the bodies of other organisms.
Answering sample AP Biology test questions is a great way to review for any type of AP Biology test, from tests in school to the AP Exam in May. Here are a few strategies for using Biology test questions to improve your grade.
Find websites that offer full AP Biology practice tests, complete with grading rubrics, essay sections, everything. If you want you can just answer the questions that refer to a certain topic, which is probably the best option if you're preparing for a school test.
That means timing yourself during the multiple choice section, taking a quick break and then doing the essay section. AP Biology practice test questions are also great for revealing topics that you need to study a little more. If you got all of the questions that have to do with plant structure wrong, you should probably get a guide on plants sometime in the near future. Entirely skipping one of the essay questions is not a good way to do well on the AP Biology Exam. During 2010, for example, one of the essay questions was on genetics. Finally, use practice tests to learn how to pace yourself during the exam. If you find yourself running out of time on the multiple choice section you should probably start skipping the hardest questions and coming back to them at the end, for example. Insights like these are priceless during the AP Biology Exam, but unfortunately you have to experience them yourself.

Chemistry (the etymology of the word has been much disputed is the science of matter and the changes it undergoes. The science of matter is also addressed by physics, but while physics takes a more general and fundamental approach, chemistry is more specialized, being concerned with the composition, behavior (or reaction), structure, and properties of matter, as well as the changes it undergoes during chemical reactions. Disciplines within chemistry are traditionally grouped by the type of matter being studied or the kind of study. These include inorganic chemistry, the study of inorganic matter; organic chemistry, the study of organic (carbon based) matter; biochemistry, the study of substances found in biological organisms; physical chemistry, the study of chemical processes using physical concepts such as thermodynamics and quantum mechanics; and analytical chemistry, the analysis of material samples to gain an understanding of their chemical composition and structure. Many more specialized disciplines have emerged in recent years, e.g. neurochemistry the chemical study of the nervous system (see subdisciplines).
The word chemistry comes from the earlier study of alchemy, which is a set of practices that encompasses elements of chemistry, metallurgy, philosophy, astrology, astronomy, mysticism and medicine. Alchemy in turn is derived from the Arabic word "كيمياء" meaning "value"; it is commonly thought of as the quest to turn lead or another common starting material into gold. Many believe that the Arabic word "alchemy" is derived from the word Chemi or Kimi, which is the ancient name of Egypt in Egyptian. The Arabs added the Arabic definite article "al" to the word, resulting in the word "الكيمياء" (al-kīmiyā). Thus, an alchemist was called a 'chemist' in popular speech, and later the suffix "-ry" was added to this to describe the art of the chemist as "chemistry".
A chemical element is a pure chemical substance consisting of one type of atom distinguished by its atomic number, which is the number of protons in its nucleus. Common examples of elements are iron, copper, silver, gold, hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen.
Download Theory of Chemistry UN SMA 2011 according to grid UN 2010/2011
Save for the hydrogen and helium in the universe, which are thought to have been mostly produced in the Big Bang, most chemical elements are thought to have been produced by later processes.
These processes are divided into:
cosmic ray spallation (important for lithium, beryllium and boron, though some of these may have formed in the Big Bang), and
stellar nucleosynthesis which produces all elements heavier than boron (with carbon being the first of this series). The very heaviest elements (those beyond element 94, plutonium) decay with half lives too short to allow them to be observed naturally on Earth.
In total, 118 elements have been characterized as of March 2010, and new elements of higher atomic number are "discovered" from time to time, as new synthetic products of artificial nuclear reactions. Of the known elements, the first 92 occur naturally on Earth. Of these, oxygen is the most abundant element in the Earth's crust. About 80 elements have stable isotopes: namely all elements with atomic numbers 1 to 82, except elements 43 and 61 (technetium and promethium). About half of the 80 stable elements are expected to be radioactive with such long half lives that their decay happens only in theory, and is too slow to have yet been detected by experiment (see the list of nuclides). These elements (such as bismuth, only recently measured as unstable) have half lives at least 100 million to 1000 million times longer than the estimated age of the universe.
Elements with atomic numbers 83 or higher (bismuth and above) are unstable to the point that their instability has been detected, and they undergo radioactive decay. The elements from atomic number 83 to 94 are composed entirely of radioactive isotopes. Other radioactive elements continue to be produced in natural processes, such as production by cosmic rays, or as shorter-lived daughter nuclides or transmutation products from natural decay of longer-lived radioactives.
When two distinct elements are chemically combined, with the atoms held together by chemical bonds, the result is termed a compound. Chemical compounds may result in elements combined in exact whole number ratios of atoms (a familiar example is water). The term "compound" does not always imply an exact combination ratio, however, inasmuch as chemical bonding of many types of elements results in crystalline solids and metallic alloys, for which exact formulas do not exist. Most of the solid substance of the Earth is of this latter type: the atoms that are present in the substance of the Earth's crust, mantle, and core are combined into chemical compounds of many compositions, but these do not have precise empirical formulas.

Physics (from Ancient Greek: φύσις physis "nature") is a natural science that involves the study of matter and its motion through spacetime, as well as all related concepts, including energy and force. Physics is one of the oldest academic disciplines, perhaps the oldest through its inclusion of astronomy. Certain research areas are interdisciplinary, such as mathematical physics and quantum chemistry, which means that the boundaries of physics are not rigidly defined. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries physicalism emerged as a major unifying feature of the philosophy of science as physics provides fundamental explanations for every observed natural phenomenon. New ideas in physics often explain the fundamental mechanisms of other sciences, while opening to new research areas in mathematics and philosophy.
Physics is also significant and influential through advances in its understanding that have translated into new technologies. For example, advances in the understanding of electromagnetism or nuclear physics led directly to the development of new products which have dramatically transformed modern-day society, such as television, computers, domestic appliances, and nuclear weapons; advances in thermodynamics led to the development of industrialization; and advances in mechanics inspired the development of calculus.
Physics covers a wide range of phenomena, from elementary particles (such as quarks, neutrinos and electrons) to the largest superclusters of galaxies. Physics aims to describe the various phenomenon that occur in nature in terms of simpler phenomena. Thus, physics aims to both connect the things observable to humans to root causes, and then connect these causes together.
For example, the ancient Chinese observed that certain rocks (lodestone) were attracted to one another by some invisible force. This effect was later called magnetism, and was first rigorously studied in the 17th century. A little earlier than the Chinese, the ancient Greeks knew of other objects such as amber, that when rubbed with fur would cause a similar invisible attraction between the two. This was also first studied rigorously in the 17th century, and came to be called electricity. Thus, physics had come to understand two observations of nature in terms of some root cause (electricity and magnetism). However, further work in the 19th century revealed that these two forces were just two different aspects of one force – electromagnetism. This process of "unifying" forces continues today, and electromagnetism and the weak nuclear force are now considered to be two aspects of the electroweak interaction.
In this new Age of Quantum Physics we are able to introduce the idea of both Quantum Physics and dreams being "timeless."
When we are in a sleeping dreaming state or a having a "Shamanic Experience," particularly when it is taking place in the dark, you are shut off from the outside world and it's perceptions. The dream is a view into the Freudian id or, if you like, the unconscious mind.
Quantum Physics, like dreams does not deal with the "outside" world of matter, but instead with ghostlike clouds of possibilities. To put it in a more understandable way, by controlling these nebulous, possibilities, one gains some control of the "real world." Ordinary or non-telepathic dreams differ from telepathic in one way, and that is the data that is collected during the dream. Ordinary dreams usually correlate the days remembered experiences with past associations and/ or future expectations contained in memories.
But telepathic dreams are very different. They tend to correlate feelings and emotions with space-time events.Dreams seem to originate in a way that escapes our normal waking selves. We tend to dream of things that we may never have even thought we had any concern with. Where as our waking awareness is concerned with space-time issues. This Dreaming effect would be very similar to the high level abstraction of Quantum Physics where there is in actuality no breakdown of Space, Time, Energy or Matter called "S.T.E.M."
Download Theory of Physics UN SMA 2011 according to grid UN 2010/2011
Our waking awareness is concerned with Space-Time-Matter issues. We organize our daily experiences according to our coordination with Space, Time and Matter. Not so in Dreams. Why would our dreams act this way? Well in Quantum Physics we are also taught the concept that we are all connected. One thought might be that these dreams are assessment damage. While we are awake we are fairly self-centered, individualized and fragmented. During our dreams we seem to rearrange the daily residue of waking life according to different priorities. The dreaming self seems concerned with anything that interferes with it's "connection" with other human and sometimes non-human beings. This is done thorough visual metaphor.
The dream metaphors link feelings and emotions with visual imagery. It has been suggested that we dream and heighten this connection with others to survive not as "individuals," but to survive as a "Whole". This would also suggest that when events become catastrophic, or threatening our survival as a species would sense them in our dreams. So what are we doing when we are dreaming? We are correlating data syncronistically (in a Quantum Physical,"space like" separated events) with (classical physical "time like " separated events.)
It is very easy to know and understand that every action (which has its own set of equal and opposite reaction) executed by man force or nature, in this world or beyond, is being carried out due to the presence of the power of science. It is when we grow up that we realize how our Utopian fairy tale world (which as children we knew was held by a herculean force) actually stands, rotates and revolves due to Physics. It seems very nice to think about Einstein sitting in the shade of a tree and discovering gravity or Watt looking at a pan in his kitchen and gifting the world what we call a steam engine. But all these miraculous inventions and discoveries start to seem impossible to decipher when they enter our Physics books and the spirits of those great men haunt us in sleep.
We often necessitate the need for extra guidance in the subject in concern beyond the reach of classroom studies and that is exactly the time when we can opt for experienced tutors according to our respective individual needs. The general theories of Physics include Electromagnetism (including Magnetism, Electricity etc.), Thermodynamics (including heat engine, Kinetic theory etc.), Theory of Relativity (including special and general relativity), Statistical mechanics, Classical mechanics (including Newton's law of motion, Kinematics, Statics, Dynamics etc.) and Quantum mechanics (Schrodinger equation, Scattering theory etc.). Astrophysics, Chemical Physics, Atomic Physics, Biophysics, Classical Physics, Geophysics, Nuclear Physics, Molecular Physics and Condensed Matter Physics are the basic classifications that form the subject from the roots. A few other sub fields are Optics, Thermodynamics, Quantum and Particle.
Some fundamental 'general concepts' among the most sought after topics for tutoring Physics are Physical observation, quantity, experiment, theory, unit, state and system and the force of Gravity and some 'theoretical concepts' are Particle, Physical field, Wave, Physical constant, Physical law, Physical interaction and Mass energy equivalence. Professional teachers and professors also give out tuitions at home or tutorials. To get a grip of Physics, one of the most profound primitive institutions of academics, you can opt for tutors from the best teachers you know, or even get through with suitable tutors online.
Physics is much about the nature of things in this realm we live. Perhaps, you have heard of Murphy's Law, well there is a good amount of reality behind complex systems, mathematically speaking, they more things you have running the more chances of one of them breaking. To help illustrate these points and other topics which intersect this concept; I'd like to recommend this book;
"At Home in the Universe - the search for the laws of self-organization and complexity" by Stuart Kauffman. 1995
If you are looking for a book that takes all the observations, natural laws and known science and then poses the question and looks for the ultimate answers in complexity, chaos and natural self-organization from atoms and molecules to complex bio-systems and planetary systems. The author makes some great points in the book and takes the reader into deep thought.

Economics deals with the laws and principles which govern the functioning of an economy and its various parts. An economy exists because of two basic facts. Firstly, human wants for goods and services are unlimited and secondly, productive resources with which to produce goods and services are scarce. It is this basic problem of scarcity which gives rise to many of the economic problems.

There has been a lot of controversy among economist about the true content of economic theory or its subjects matter. The subject matter and scope of economics has been variously defined. Each definition is incomplete inadequate and because of various conflicting definition, some confusion has been created about the nature and scope of economics.
The subject matter of economics has been divided into two parts: microeconomics and macroeconomics. In Microeconomics we study the economic behavour of an individual, firm or industry in the national economy. It is thus a study of a particular unit rather than all the units combined. We mainly study the following in microeconomics:
1) Product pricing
2) Consumer behavior
3) Factor pricing
4) Economic conditions of a section of the people
5) Study of a firm and
6) Location of a industry.
In macro economics, we study the economic behavior of the large aggregates such as the overall conditions of the economy such as total production, total consumption, total saving and total investment in it.It includes:
1) National income and output
2) General price level
3) Balance of trade and payments
4) External value of money
5) Saving and investment and
6) Employment and economic growth.
The problem of scarcity and choice making can be depicted using the tool of production possibilities curve. If it gives the whole charge of the economy, to private ownership we get capitalist economy, to public ownership we get socialist economy and jointly to private and public ownership we get mixed economy.

Well, as far as the need to study economics is concerned, there are several factors that are associated with this study and are basically understood and managed due to this study. For instance the study of resources and other related factors help the authorities and the people understand the scarcity of the available resources and the need to use them efficiently. This study further helps the governments along with overall population help manage their funds properly in order to meet their overall needs and requirements.
Economics study helps the citizens decide about choosing their governments based on the overall working of the existing government in terms of management of the national funds, which again is determined by such studies. Economics needs to be studied due to various other reasons as well. People want proper and sufficient amount of information as consumers in order to ensure that that they spend their limited resources in the right manner and this is one factor why studying economics is important.

At an economics college, you'll learn about many aspects of business, management, finance, marketing and corporate planning, in addition to the money management issues of today. The majority of people working in applied economics hold positions as forecasters, analysts, market researchers, government workers and client support personnel.
As you may have heard, the choice of school and the pursuit of a degree are extremely important in determining your success in economics. Just about every school offers macro economics and microeconomics courses, but to really get ahead, you'll want to get into a graduate school with the best department of Economics you can find. The best schools may offer more passionate teachers, better internship options, more extensive areas of study and the sort of prestige you'll need when looking to start your career in the competitive labor market.

When choosing classes from a school's department of Economics, the best advice is to take more math courses! It can be easy to fall behind in your studies if you aren't crystal clear on the statistics, calculus and mathematical concepts. When you were trying to get your bachelor's degree in economics, you were likely scanning the course options for "easy electives" and ways of pulling your GPA up. Be sure you take real analysis, calculus and econometrics, as these classes will be vital to your understanding.
To get an undergrad degree in Business Economics, students attending an accredited economics university will need to take courses like macro economics, microeconomics, financial accounting and reporting, calculus, economics statistics, econometrics, money/banking/credit, business writing, the stock market, labor economics, monetary economics, international trade theory, law and economics, industrial organization, economics and business strategy, organizational psychology, formal organizations and politics and the economy.
The average starting salary for economists is $38,000 for a bachelor's degree, $48,000 for a master's and $70,000 for a PhD, according to a 2002 National Association of Business Economics survey. The median income for the economics major is higher than any other major, experts say. Economics research also suggests that economics majors earn 20% more than business administration majors, 19% more than accounting majors, 18% more than marketing majors and 15% more than finance majors. When a potential employer sees this major on a resume, he or she immediately understands that you have a solid foundation of math, politics, business and economic theory. Your degree also shows that you have the capacity to process complex subjects and problem solve, which is valuable in any field.
According to US News & World Report, Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts is the top-rated school for Business Economics. The second-best university in this field is Stanford in California and Northwestern University in Illinois. After the top-three, other economics college options include the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) in Philadelphia, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan) in Cambridge, the University of Chicago, UC-Berkeley in California, Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, Columbia University in New York City and Yale University in Connecticut. It's highly recommended that individuals looking to remain competitive in their field pursue advanced education with Master's or PhD's.
Unlike undergrad, the department of Economics in grad schools looks to cultivate the best and brightest talent. Most students are granted a fellowship, assistantship, grant, tuition remission or monthly stipend to cover the cost of the program and living expenses. If a lot of students are admitted, then you may still need to pay or seek NSF grants on your own. The good news is that, after all their hard work, 99% of graduate students get placed into applied economics positions right out of grad school.

If you are interested in studying in the Economics field, there are a wide variety of career choices available to you. Generally speaking, most people with an Economics degree is whatever minor they choose, go for a Bachelor's degree, although a Master's degree will always ensure that you start out higher to the top of the companies food chain, and earn more annual income.
Career choices in the field of Economics can include Economic Consulting with research companies or consulting firms, where you would advise the company on business strategies and help to prepare economic evidence for court cases. Another destination that many Economic graduates find is law school. In the field of Economic law, you would have the chance to influence many decisions based on the economy, and would be able to contribute to many firms and government agencies. And, speaking of government agencies, there is always the choice of working directly with the government through non-profit organizations.

The government, local, state, and national, hire Economists to aid with the statistic and analysis portion of business.
A look at the potential annual earnings for majors in Economics shows that, with a bachelor's degree, for instance if you decided to pursue your degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance, the annual salary that you could expect in your first year would be around $45,000, whereas a degree simply in marketing would earn you only $36,000 annually. The low end of the earnings for an Economy major, reported in 2005 was $24,000 for a bachelor's degree, while those with a Master's degree earned $37,000 starting annually. Wages can go up to nearly $100,000 yearly, depending upon whether you decide to seek employment with a private or government sector. The Federal Government's annual salary for economists with a Master's degree in 2005 was $89,441. Overall, Economists are expected to earn a significantly higher income whether they are working with the government or with a private company, simply because the need much outweighs the supply.
Economists are normally employed within larger cities, however some do work overseas for varies companies, either government or private international operations. World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and the United Nations all employ economists from all over the world to work in their facilities.
If you are considering a career in the Economics field, there are a few minor requisites to keep in mind. Those interested in Economics will normally be able to pay great attention to details. This is highly important because you will spend much time on precise data analysis. You must be able to present findings on your studies in a clear manner, both orally and written, so good communication skills are of the utmost priority.
A Master's degree or a PH.D is normally required for many private companies and most government agencies. Although a bachelor's degree will get you in the door to your Economics career, it's best to obtain at least a master's degree if you plan to start in a top position. You will also need at least a master's degree if you plan to teach Economics. Instructors and professors of Economics are among the highest paid career choices, outside of the Federal Government, so if you want to help others to obtain their goal in reaching an Economics degree, a master's degree will be required. The educational requirements and courses that you will need will, of course, vary depending on the college or institution that you attend. Basically, for a master's degree, you will need courses such as advanced economic theory, econometrics, labor economics, and international economics courses. These are the graduate courses that are required by most companies. Undergraduate courses will include microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, and the history of economic thought. The entry-level jobs for the Federal Government require a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 21 semester hours of economics and at least 3 hours of statistics, accounting, and/or calculus.
Economists are a growing number, and will continue to be needed in our society, so if you have an interest, and have the necessary thinking, analysis, and data skills, a career in the Economics field would be a wonderful choice.

To get to the national bee is no easy feet. School level competitions begin in November. There is no limit on the number of competitors, though there is a minimum of 6 participants required to host an event. The Bee begins with preliminaries, where competitors are split into groups of twenty. Each is asked one question from 7 categories. Each question is worth 1 point, and the top scorers advance to the second round.
The second part of competition has two parts - a final and championship round. The 10 finalists are cleared of previous points, and are eliminated after two incorrect answers. Once the third place winner is decided, the two semi-finalists go head to head. Third place eliminations don't happen until all students have voiced an answer, because if all players are incorrect no one is eliminated.
The championship round is played between the two semi-finalists. Before the question is asked, points are cleared once more. Participants have 15 seconds to write down their answers. To qualify for state competition, all school-level winners take a written test. The top 100 qualify for the state bee, which follows the same rules as the local bees. National competitors are the winners from state and territory bees. Other than an increase in preliminary questions from 7 to 9, rules are identical.

For those serious about gaining a geography diploma, a distance learning program may be just the right thing. There are lots of benefits to getting a geography degree by way of an online learning program. Firstly, there is no requirement to commute in order to take part in the lessons. This can save many hours of time each week. As lectures are done at your own pace, you're able to choose the time that's best for you to study. You are also in a position to flexibly schedule your learning in between the hours you go to work. This is a definite advantage because of the fact that lots of people who plan to improve their school cannot accomplish that because of work issues that don't allow them to find the time for higher education. This allows the average guy to get a degree.
There is one thing that you must rest assured of when studying for an online learning program based geography degree, and that is to maintain a focused level of self-discipline. Unlike traditional college or academy, the studies are typically independent. This means that you will be expected to complete your own task in a timely manner and to meet the deadlines without needing to be pursued by your teacher repeatedly. Also, you won't be eligible for any reimbursement if you decide not to complete assignments when you're enrolled and taking part in a class, which is similar to how standard universities work.
While online education courses are notably cheaper than pursuing local schools or faculties, the costs are still high enough to want to be serious about learning, so as to not waste time and money. The charge that is involved is for the teacher's competence so whether or not you complete your tasks, he'll do his job by helping you in the best possible way to obtain your diploma.
Most of the distance education programs that offer geography degrees require performing classwork tasks independently. Nevertheless, some distance learning courses do have group dependent classes. Web based chats and seminars are the tools employed by these types of programs. If you're taking part in a group lesson, you'll be expected to be present at these classes.

How many minutes would it take you to identify Bhutan on a world map without names, only borders? How about Djibouti? Or Slovenia?
Don't worry, you aren't alone. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of other people struggle with geography. Once you've graduated from school and settled into your career, no one starts asking uncomfortable questions like, "What's the capital of Lithuania?", until your kids hit third or fourth grade.

If your child is struggling to learn geography in school, there is hope to helping him get on track with his studies. Just turn to globes. Really, globes are fabulous educational tools for teaching your child about all the important places on the planet. This is made possible because globes are 3D representations of the earth. Pointing out all those spots, like bodies of water, continents, and countries, is a breeze since all you have to do is spin the globe around and your there. What's also great about this fixture is that your child gains a great understanding of his location and where he's at in relation to other parts of the world. Like, if you're family lives in Idaho and he's learning about a country in Asia, he will see that it is halfway around the world.

There are even globes that make learning fun because you can get ones that light up and others that are raised relief. They allow you to put an interesting twist on the lesson. For example, you could teach your child about the different countries in the world in the dark since the globe can illuminate the whole room. The ones that are raised relief actually have bumps on them, so your child can see and feel the difference in elevation, which is pretty neat when you're trying to keep them focused and on task.
Along with being a practical educational tool, globes also have an attractive quality to them. Well, it is because they are made out of stunning materials that create globes that are extremely pleasing to the eye. For instance, the raised relief globes are generally crafted from wood that has a lovely cream base, which is then has the world detailing screen printed right on them.
Or, you can get others that are made out of beautiful gemstones, yes, gemstones, the same stones that are used to make jewelry. What also adds to a globe's beauty is how it can be mounted on other gorgeous materials. Like, wood that feature different finishes along with metals like silver and gold.
When it comes down to it, there are just a lot of different globes to choose from and for an easy way to check them all out, just hit the internet for some online shopping. Talk about being convenient since you didn't even have to step outside of your home to get what you wanted.
So, if your child is struggling with geography in school, help him out at home with classic globes. They are a great educational tool and a sure fire way to make sure he gets back on track in the classroom.

1. Play Board and Card Games
There are many great board and card games available which relate to Geography. Card games like the Borderline series are ideal to teach students the relative locations of places. Mindware has brought out two Brainbox games on geography - one on world geography and one on US geography. Both get the players to study pictorial clues about a country or state and then to answer questions based on what they can remember. This game can be played with many children at the same time and my geography class loved it!
2. Play CD Rom and Online Games
Children love computer games - so this an ideal way to slip in some teaching without them even realizing it. The Carmen Sandiego "Where in the World" and "Where in the USA" games were great favorites with my own kids when they were younger. They learned about places all over the world without even noticing they were learning.
And of course you can find a plethora of online games to challenge players of all different levels of geography knowledge. My family loves the ones on the Sporcle website, but if those are too hard, there are plenty of others to choose from.
3. Watch Movies
There is an excellent DVD series made especially for children called "Families of the World". In each DVD two families in a country are visited - one in the city and one in the country. The narration is done from the point of view of one of the children in the family, so children can easily relate to what they are watching.
You can also show children feature movies set in other countries. My young daughter and I watched Children of Heaven about a young boy and girl in Iran who have to share a pair of shoes - and it gave her an excellent insight into another culture.
4. Devise your own Geography Games
Draw a large world map on a piece of paper, stick it on a wall and play 'Pin the Plane on the Continent'. Or make up Geography Taboo, Geography Pictionary, Geography Jeopardy or Geography Charades. You can tailor-make your questions to fit the lesson you are teaching.
5. Communicate with children in other countries
Find pen pals and they can communicate by letter, email, Skype or even Facebook if they are older. Another option is to sign up for the Postcrossings program which organizes a postcard swap between people all over the world.

Let's face it... Geography is one of the most overlooked subjects in traditional public schooling and in homeschooling. Why? How about Chile? Is this relevant information or should we just spend a little more time with math, history and writing?
Geography is very important to learn and will help your children immensely as they grow into compassionate adults who care not only for themselves, but for the people around them, both locally and globally.

Here are 5 very easy and even enjoyable ways to learn more about our globe without compromising your other studies or losing your kids to utter boredom. In fact, learning geography will enhance nearly every other subject area that your students are studying.
1. Mark It on the Map
When you study a place, a person or an event, mark in on your wall map. If you do not have a wall map of the world, pick one up inexpensively at Costco, Borders or Walmart. Thumb tack it to your wall. Let's say that you are studying Louis Pasteur in science. Using a colored marker, place a dot on Dole, France (where he was born) or Paris, France (where he lived and died) and mark the location with his name. You can do this with almost any location information that you read about during your normal course of studies.
2. Color an Outline Map
Purchase or search online for a set of historical outline maps. As you study various events in history, print out an appropriate map for your students to label and color while you read their history text to them. When they are finished labeling their maps, they can color them and then add to a history binder, the refrigerator or bulletin board.
3. Mix it up with a Unit Study
Maybe your students are burned out on the regular schedule and it is time for a change. Why not mix things up by doing a unit study? A great way to throw in a splash of geography into your studies would be to study one country for a week. Learn about their customs, their religion, their architecture and their values. Read some great books, look at beautiful pictures, cook up some authentic cuisine, create a craft.
4. Take a Map on your Trip
Will you be taking a road trip at any time in the near future? Print off a map of the area you will be driving (or flying through) and have your kids mark places of interest as you pass by them on your journey.
5. Dig in Deeper
Perhaps you and your students are ready for a deeper study of a particular geographic region. It is perfectly acceptable to set aside another subject for a time, such as history or science, and dig deeper into geography. You won't cause your students any educational damage by laying aside one subject for a time to pick up another. In fact, they will retain more if they can study more deeply in one subject, rather than spreading themselves too thinly across a multitude of subjects.
In conclusion, geography does not need to be hard or intimidating. We can learn more about our world right alongside our kids. Don't worry if your children are not connecting the dots right away and still seem disorientated with the globe. Over time and with continued reinforcement, your children will become familiar with the layout of our planet and the people God has placed upon it. As home educators, we can feel confident that we are producing well-rounded, well-educated and compassionate kids when we add a splash of geography to our studies at least once a week.

The lectures are available to all the university's students but the graduate tutorials on molecular biology are exclusive to the students of the said program. EPR Spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, crystallography and different types of metabolisms are some of the subjects that are available in the internet-based academic program. The initial part of the Molecular Biology PhD program includes lectures about these topics.
Convenience is the primary advantage in entering this online program. Even if you have a regular job, you can still continue your studies through this. The materials that are needed for this will be sent to the student through postal service. So you have to make time for the few instances that your presence is actually needed.
