Ujian Nasional (UN) merupakan agenda penting dalam dunia pendidikan. Penyelenggara UN, yaitu BSNP menetapkan standar tertentu sehingga peserta UN dapat lulus. Untuk UN tahun 2010 yang akan datang standar ini masih sama dengan standar tahun lalu yaitu 5,50.
Mata pelajaran yang di-UN-kan tingkat SMP terdiri dari Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, dan IPA. Diantara 4 mata pelajaran itu yang paling sulit dirasakan siswa adalah Matematika
Belajar matematika tidaklah sama dengan belajar IPS.Belajar matematika kuncinya adalah banyak-banyak mengerjakan soal latihan. kita tidak perlu menghafal rumus-rumus matematika. Bila kita sering mengerjakan soal latihan niscaya rumus-rumus itu akan dapat terhafal dengan sendirinya. Untuk dapat berlatih mengerjakan soal latihan tentunya kita butuh buku yang di dalamnya penuh dengan soal-soal terutama soal yang sudah terstandar.
Terdapat sebuah buku (tepatnya ebook) yang berjudul SUNMAMA (Siap Ujian Nasional Matematika) Untuk siswa kelas 9 SMP/MTs yang sedang/akan menghadapi UN 2010. Buku ini berisi 3 hal pokok, yaitu:
